Hello my Friends,
As the holidays approach and the spa expansion nears completion, I’ve been reflecting on the energy this season brings: connection, growth, and, above all, gifts!
I'm not big on religion but I'm always practicing spiritual self awareness, and this year I started reading a daily verse from the New Testament , letting its words settle in my heart as I tired to understand the meaning.
One passage in the New Testament that stood out was the Parable of the Talents.
In this story, a master entrusts three servants with "talents" (a unit of money).
Two servants invest and multiply their talents, earning praise. The third, out of fear, buries his talent, and the master scolds him as an "unprofitable servant." Profitable doesn't always mean to grow your money... but could also mean to grow yourself.
This parable resonates with me because fear often holds us back from growing our "talents" and gifts, just like the third servant, so much that we will burry it!
Fear of failure or judgment can cause us to bury what’s meant to be shared! Heck I'm still scared most days!
This lesson has been deeply personal for me. This summer, my father, who has dementia and Parkinson’s, came to live with me. Balancing his care alongside raising my autistic son, and expanding the spa had me worried if I could still pursue and grow my gifts.
Fear definitely crept in daily, but faith isn’t something theoretical, it’s something you live and embody. I decided that I could and was able to move forward in the direction of my dreams and that God had my back, regardless of my past mistakes and my current fear.
When you choose to share your gift and have faith that God Creator has your back.... you can't go wrong.
Fear will always exist and you may see it show up when your getting close to showcasing your gifts! But courage is choosing to act despite it, trusting in the Creator’s plan even when it’s unclear.
This holiday season, don’t let your gift remain buried. Even if it feels small, like a walnut seed, it holds the potential to grow into a mighty tree. Share it. Nourish it. Honor the Creator who placed it in you.
You were given your gift for a reason—don’t let it go unshared.
With much love and gratitude,
Linda O.
PS: Here is your affirmation for the month:
"I embrace my God-given gifts with courage and faith, trusting they will grow me and bless the world."
